Finally Launched
I’ve missed a few opportunities between when I decided to add a blog to my website and today, when I am actually writing my first post. So here’s my short response to some of the major events in our country…
1. So, did you hear we have a new president? I’m actually glad our country has come to the point where the overwhelming majority of Americans are willing to vote for a minority. This means we’re moving past racial barriers (though I’m sure we still have some work to do) and looking at people for more than just their skin color. I guess we don’t need affirmative action after all.
2. Happy birthday Charles Darwin! A day to celebrate the man who finally gave atheists a scientific theory to support their view. I agree with a few things he said (though not much). I specifically want to cite On the Origin of Species where he says, “A fair result can be obtained only by fully stating and balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each question.”
3. I‘m glad the government is finally running the auto industry. They have a way better track record when it comes to managing money. </sarcasm>
Anyway, I’ll try to post at least once a week, but I can’t make any strong promises, due to an erratic work schedule. The topics will revolve around things I find interesting that relate to religion (specifically Christianity) and politics (I tend to be conservative, but I’m not a republican.).
