In the introduction of The God Delusion, Richard Dawkins invites the reader to imagine (with John Lennon, of course) a world with no religion. As I was reading his list of things we wouldn’t have–such as honor killings, 9/11, and the crusades–I found myself filling in some things that he left out. So lets imagine with Richard Dawkins and John Lennon a world with no religion (it’s easy if you try).

While many conservatives would applaud my comparison, my point is not to bash a liberal. The reason I mention Lenin is to point out that ideas have consequences. The government has a lot of power, and the decisions that they make can have far-reaching effects. With the American economy so fragile, is it really a good time to be rushing the passage of a major health care bill?
